Since the early black and white images of Butch Moore finishing sixth for Ireland in Naples, 1965, the country has been gripped by the contest. With seven subsequent wins, Ireland are far and away the most successful nation in the history of the competition.
The success started in 1970 Amsterdam when 18-year-old school girl Dana and her All Kinds of Everythingmade her a national hero. It took another decade before the emergence of the man synonymous with the Eurovision Song Contest, the legendary Johnny Logan. His win in 1980 with What's Another Year was followed by a second success as he performed his own composition Hold Me Now in 1987 and in 1992 he wrote Linda Martin's Why Me? to secure Ireland's fourth win and an unprecedented treble for himself.
Ireland were to win three more times in the 90s, with Niamh Kavanagh and In Your Eyes in 1993, Paul Harrington with Charlie McGettian with Rock 'n' Roll Kids in 1994 and Eimear Quinn and The Voice in 1996.
This exclusive documentary features all the original seven Eurovision-winning performances in their entirety plus exclusive interviews with many of the winners including Johnny Logan, Dana, Linda Martin and Paul Harrington with Charlie McGettigan.
