Trio of films featuring sword brandishing uber-females. In 'Resident Evil: Apocalypse' (2004), Milla Jovovich reprises her role as Alice, who now finds herself stuck in the contaminated Raccoon City after the deadly re-opening of the Hive. The infamous Umbrella Corporation has banned anyone from leaving in case of possible infection with the outside world. Along with other survivors Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) and Carlos Oliviera (Oded Fehr), Alice must fight for her survival - and do all she can to escape the nightmare necropolis. Together, the small band of survivors seeks out eminent scientist Dr Charles Ashford (Jared Harris), the only man with the knowledge to help them out of their awful entrapment - but they soon discover that Ashford's co-operation comes at a heavy price. In the thriller 'Ultraviolet' (2006), set in the late 21st century, a vampire-like disease called hemophagia creates a subculture of genetically-modified humans. These humans have enhanced speed, incredible stamina and acute intelligence. As they are set apart from 'normal, healthy' humans, the world is pushed to the brink of worldwide civil war aimed at the destruction of the diseased population. In the middle of this crossfire is an infected woman, Ultraviolet (Milla Jovovich), who finds herself protecting a nine-year-old boy who has been marked for death by the human government as he is believed to be a threat to humans. In 'DOA - Dead or Alive' (2006), the world's top martial artists are set to compete in an invitational contest on a mysterious island. However, similar to I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, they are dropped on the island out of a plane and left to make their own way to the fight stage. After a grueling jungle slog, the fighting begins in a series of sudden death rounds. The film version is centred upon four female contestants who, at the start, are set to knock each other out but end up forging an alliance in order to combat an unforeseen obstacle.
